I saw this and had immediatly had to give it a go.
I love when all you need for a new project is already waiting for you at your home.
Please don´t wonder or even ask me why I had this styrofoam balls at home. I don´t know, sometimes I just have to buy stuff at the craftstore, you know, just in case... Uhoh, here is the case! Yippieh!
What you need:
- styrofoam balls (I used about 20 pieces)
- wooden skewers
- hot glue gun
- clippers
- maybe some nylon to hang the finished project from your ceiling
1) Poke a hole into your first ball with the skewer.
2) Take the skewer out, fill the hole with hot glue and put the skewer in again.
3) Now the fun part really starts. Poke into your ball whereever you think your next skewers would look great, or put the second ball at the other end of your skewer.
4) Continue adding balls or skewers in any way you want, your shape will grow and your construction will get some "body".
You could paint your balls and skewers, but I liked the clean look of the white balls and wooden skewers for my bedroom ceiling best.
I pland to hang it with some nylon string, but then I realised I had this old hook right over my bed I don´t use for my mosquito net any more and this worked really great.
So this is my new installation in my bedroom.
Enjoy!
