Project #23 - Let me introduce you: The (Birthday) Clutch

When I saw this clutch on Pinterest, I knew I had to sew a clutch! And I loved the triangle pattern.
(The bag is no longer available, but it´s been from the side bookhou , they sell wonderful bags and pouches!)

I dreamed about sewing a clutch since I read this post on Elise Blahas Page.
And I wanted to try hand stamping for a long time, so this was the perfect opportunity to try both.

First I had to produce a stamp.
Mine is made out of an old eraser, which I find hilarious, because this technique is called rubber stencil, and I learnd a eraser is called "a rubber" (This has been in primary school and my austrian teacher learned English while staying in GB). I think it is not funny unless your FL is not English, but anyway...

Back to business... My stamp was simple cut out of an old eraser with a knife and a scraper. I first used a pencil to draw my pattern, and then cut and sraped.

For stamping I used black fabrique paint. I bought a thick white fabrique at IKEA, because the thickness of this gives the whole clutch some body.

And then I stamped...

Noe the actual clutch sewing started.
I followed this fab tutorial via Elise´s page. It is from pretty www.makeit-loveit.com/ and is simple and has great pictures. So please follow this tutorial, I thought it was unneccesary to write a new one since this one is simple and very good.

And this is how my attempt turned out:

Originally I planed to use it the first time when celebrating my birthday the other week, but then the weather has still been very hot and a choose to wear another outfit, so the clutch is still in waiting line and sits on a chair in my entrance hall. I smile everytime I pass, I love it when something I did is useful and pretty!

Enjoy!

Today...

Today I...
... finish my last paper before graduation.
... wrote four blog posts (including this one). I have a little catch up to do.
... read the last pages of "One of our Tuersdays is missing" by Jasper Fforde. Love this series, love this author.
... ate spaghetti with the last herbs from my balcony for this year.
... am really inspired.

Today is the boyfriends birthday. Happy birthday babe!

I love fall...

Don´t get me wrong, I love every season. Every time of the year has its own special feeling, time and place.

But there is something even more special to fall... I mean autumn...
Let me try to explain.

I love fall...
...for all its colours.
...for the start of school.
...for birthdays.
...for foggy mornings.
...for all its browns.
...for this special shafts of sunlight.
...for finally cooler days.
...for eating chesnuts.
...for its spiderwebs.
...for early evenings.
...for all its yellows.
...for days of rain.
...for umbrellas.
...for rainboots.
...for all its reds.
...for the opportunity to take hot showers again.
...for warm, cosy socks.
...for chestnut crafts.
...for warm coats.
...for pumpkin soup.
...for its last flowers.
...for fresh beginnings.
...for cozy evenings.
...for the feeling you gained more energy again.
...for it´s not long until christmas...

My new obsession...

I got an awesome birthday present from my boyfriend! A Nikon One V2!! This is official the most expensive best (I don´t wan´t to offend anybody...) I ever got.

I have so much fun with it, it´s super duper gummy good!

And so blogland, now you have to deal with my new obsession... photos! Not the worst obsession I think.

It is a try and fail hobby, and I hope to get better while working with it. At the moment I´m only using the automatic modus, we will see if I am brave enough to change this..

I´ll call it: "Woman in tunnel"

One up for selfies!
