Monday Morning EPP Count 2014 May3

This week I´m pretty proud of myself, four news flowers, not that bad.
(And since I originally planed to upload this on Monday, I have another one completed, but so pics, so I´ll leave it for next week...)

You can see on the next picture my layout at the moment. I plan to add one more  row, so the total flower-layout will be 4/3x5. I think it will be a decent size for a baby blanket, especially if you have in mind that there will be a boarder and a binding.

As always, I´m not sure how much I will be able to complete till my due date, especially the white fillup-pieces will take some time, but we will see when this baby plans her arrival, I´m not sure if it will really take till the 14th of June...

Monday Morning EPP Count 2014 May2

So...

Only two new flowers in two weeks, oops...

But in my defense, I did a lot of other stuff in this time too.

There are these hats.

A maschine stiched baby blanket.

And I finished the makeover of our borrowed bassinet.

And these projects were all worth the hesitation with my flower blanket.

So with two new ones I'm at a total of ten. I know I'll need a lot more and I'm pretty sure this will not be finished before the arrival of my little lady, but I try my best to finish at least four more flowers. Thumbs up for this resolution!

Fancy place to shout, I know...

Baby blanket for little M

This blanket was originally planed for my own little girl. But as I mentioned, I decided to do something really special for her, so this one goes out to the new baby of one friend of mine (her older sister got this blanket last fall, she is the goddaughter of my boyfriend, so we are really attached to this family).

Little M arrived yesterday afternoon (3 weeks early, but everthing is all right), so I was able to stich her name on the backside yesterday evening (her name was a secret till then, I really love this idea, we are going to do the same), and I'm really looking forward to give it to her when they com home from hospital.

So here are some pics of the process and the outcome, hope you enjoy it!

Cutting, cutting, cutting, and not even all the used fabriques...

Playing with layouts

I originally wanted to shout outside in the garden, but since it´s been raining all week, this desk has to be my shouting space....

I really have to work on my embroidery stich...

Please, no sweet little bears for this girl (bassinet makeover)

Our dear friends are very kind and are lending us their bassinet.

I hope our girl will be sleeping in there for the first months, this will propaply sit next to my bed or at least in our  bedroom, we are not quite sure yet.  But since it has wheels, there is no need for a hurry, we can relocate it every day.

The bassinet lookes like new, but I wasn't quite happy with the look of the fabrique, I'm not at all into this whole little-sweet-bears-on-every-baby-piece thing. So I went on the hunt and found nice bedcloths at ikea for about 20€. I knew this was it, you can't beat more than 4m of fabrique (1,50m wide) for 20€!
(I've tried to find it online, but it's not on their webside...)

I ripped all the seams, washed and ironed it, and then started sewing.

I'm really pleased with the outcome, it's not quite pink (which I also try to avoid for my girl), more a little on the salmon side, and I really like the geometric pattern.

Can't wait to but the little one inside, only four more weeks...

Baby hat fever...

A few days ago, my also pregnant friend took me shopping. Both of us have nearly everything at home we need for these two new babys, but we went to the big city to shop one or two fancy pieces :)

We went to Vienna and visited to really pretty little shops, Herzilein Wien (also fabrique heaven, nothing so beautiful around my home...) and HerrundFrauKlein. Two really really fancy shops, which means "quite expensive". Since I'm a most of the time H&M shopper and bought most of my baby cloth there, it really felt ridiculous for me to spend my money on one romper, when I could get three or so "normal" ones instead. But you know this, sometimes a girl needs something special, so my girls got one pair of leggings, one jersey babyhat and a pair of oh so soft baby shoe-socks. All ecofriendly, all made from a small company, all very very sweet.

In one shop my friend found this sweet little knitted baby hat, turquoise and white, with a cute little flower on it. But it was more than 30€! Holy moly, no, we are not spending this budget on one single knitted hat, I will try this!

So the next day I went yarn shopping and went home with this really soft yarn in turquoise , white and orange (called Omega by Lang Yarns), each ball for about 4€. And I started knitting.
Since then, about one week ago, I've knitted five hats, and I really can't stop myself as long as there is yarn. I've done two hats for my girl, two for my friends new girl and one for her older sister so far.

Two for my girl...

...plus two for the other babygirl...

...plus one for the big sis´!

I'm pretty excited about the outcome, especially about  how budget-friendly these have been.

What do you think?

Monday Morning EPP Count 2014 May1

Not that much EPP progress this week. Which is no suprise with one holiday last week and the boyfriend off from work for four days in a row. But no complaining, this has been a really good weekend!

I´ve done two new flowers, which makes a total of eight.

I wonder how far I will get till our due date...
