Project #20 - Potholders

So, this are my new potholders! Yippieh!!
And I have crocheted them, all by myself!! In only two days, very pleasend!

And this is how it works...

What you need:
- yarn, if you like the ripped optic, in two colours, I used one ball of each colour
- crochet hook size 4,00mm

What you should be able to crochet:
- chain stich
- single crochet
Easy! I told you!!

Start with a chain of 25 stiches.

Close the chain to get a ring.

Start the next row with one chain stich to gain height. Then do four single crochets, but always only stich in the front loop. This is how the ribbs start to show.

After four stiches, work three single crochet stiches in on loop, this time as ususal through both the back and the front loop. This will form the corner of your piece.

Then finish your row with four more stiches, only stich in the front loop again.

Start the second row with a chain stich. Work your way through the row with five single stiches, only front loop. Then three in one loop, and five more single stiches in the front loop.

This is how it works. Every row you crochet one more stich on the left and on the right.

I switched colour after four rows. And then always crocheted two rows in one colour. I never cut the yarn, bu always let the not used one hang down at the side.

After I had a decent size, I added three single stiches in the corner stich to get a round corner and worked my way round one side. When I came to the chain at the top I single crochetd around them, don´t stich in one loop!

And then I finish by working along the second side, down to the corner. Three stiches in the corner, and you are done!

All you have to do is sew your loose ends. Done!!

Enjoy!
